Thank you to the more than 400 people who were able to join us for Sheep Shearing on Sunday, April 26th. It was a beautiful weather day and a lot of fun for everyone!
The sheep put on quite a show as our sheepshearer, Erin, gave them their annual shearing. The sheep are very comfortable, already enjoying their lighter layers!
Participants enjoyed watching the shearing and learning about the process of making wool from the fleece. They also had the opportunity to participate in that process as knitters, weavers and fiber enthusiasts demonstrated each step of the process and attendees got a turn to clean, card, spin and weave for themselves.
Live music was provided by The Escher Brothers Band, The Dave Scanlon Trio and In One Wind, to everyone's enjoyment!
Fired Up Kitchens made the most delicious pizza in their wood-fired oven throughout the afternoon.
You may have heard about the goats who wandered onto Route 684 last week. Thankfully, no people or goats were harmed in the process of their wandering and rescue. We appreciate the concern, but they do NOT belong to Rainbeau Ridge. We hope the owner comes forward as soon as possible and we also hope they are safely fenced from now on.
