Local Eating Challenge!

What is it? It is a challenge to source as much of your family's food needs as as you can from local sources for a four-week period (and extended forever if you can) from October 7th through November 4th.

Rainbeau Ridge is sponsoring this challenge to raise awareness of just how possible it is to eat locally.

Here's what you can do:

• Sign up for the challenge
• Keep checking the web-site for resources and ideas for local eating, including recipes
• Join us for weekly conference calls on October 11th, 17th and 24th for check-ins, recipes and ideas
• Share your experiences, ideas, resources and recipes on our RR-LEC blog
• Join us for the wrap-up on November 4th (a pot-luck social!), taste other LEC participants' recipes and share yours
• Make an impact on global warming by reducing our dependence on imported food sources that require massive transportation and asking local food retailers to carry more local produce
